Cliff Jackson

I have been a long time supporter of this agency, going back to the Alan Belcher days. There has been quite a transformation over the years, and we all know that with growth comes challenges, from the Board of Directors down to the most mundane details, commonplace in any organization. I am a consensus builder when it comes to involvement with the organizations for whom I have had the pleasure to serve. I am a Past President (2x) of the Rotary Club of Crystal Lake Dawnbreakers, and spearheaded a major donation(s) to then TLS. I am the immediate Past President of Crystal Lake Country Club, and led a major renovation drive that has resulted in record numbers of new Members. I served on the BOD for several years at Cary Youth Baseball and led the efforts to build and rebuild several fields and concessions stands. I like involvement, but love team building.

I am a Veteran of 5-1/2 years in the USAF, with a 20 month tour in Vietnam as a bomb/rocket specialist. After discharge, with those skills not readily transferable to the public sector, I used my dairy farm raised work ethic to get into construction and eventually started my own business on 2/2/82. The Prime Rate was 20.5%, Mortgage Rates were 17.5%, and the Unemployment Rate was 13.4%. Many people thought I was crazy to sell my house to finance a business, especially with a young wife and a newborn baby. I only saw opportunity in the fact that McHenry County had yet to grow and I knew my business could grow with it. Jackson Insulation & Exteriors Co. is now in its 40th year and the future is bright. At 73, I still work every day in Sales and Management and retirement is not in my vocabulary.
